I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.

Judging from her attire, that is a modern angel.
What a wonderful statue .. such emotion
Beautiful statue!
Some wonderful details here.
What Daryl said. Emotional!
These shots keep reminding me of the movie..."Midnight in the Garden of Evil"!!! Very mood provoking!!!
The statue is at once very sentimental and very powerful. The angel seems to have a protean strength, enough to conquer death.
Big article in the NY Times today about Jackson County's financial disaster. I had no idea.
